Upon graduation from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Alex entered the insurance and finance industry with John Hancock Financial Services.  Alex later joined Cameron M. Harris & Co. in Charlotte, NC to be the director of the Charlotte Chamber Health insurance Program and later as one of the leading consultants with the firm with a focus on group health insurance and employee benefits.  In 2000 Alex decided to start his own firm in Charlotte and expanded by returning to his hometown of Wilmington, NC in 2004.  In 2013 Alex’s firm become part of the Ballantyne Insurance Group providing business insurance and workers’ compensation as well to provide a full array of consulting capabilities for insurance and benefits.  Ballantyne Insurance Group subsequently opened an office in Raleigh, NC and added a financial services division.  Alex and Ballantyne Insurance Group are excited about the partnership with Veep Stack to bring a virtual based consulting service without geographic barriers to assist companies designing benefit programs, setting up a benefit budget, vetting out and selection of vendors, installation and communication benefits, and troubleshooting service issues, designing non-qualified benefits for the owners and key employees of the firm, and consult on compensation and business continuing planning.

During his 27 year career Alex has been named member of the year for the Charlotte Association of Health Underwriters and later served as the association president, been selected to represent North Carolina in Washington, D.C. lobbying for better insurance reforms.  He also has earned various awards for his sales achievements including the prestigious Golden Eagle Award by The National Association of Health Underwriters.

Alex sticks to the values of “always client’s needs first” and work diligently to assist business owners and senior leadership with their risk management, benefits, and design compensation programs that leverage the tax code to maximize the margins retained.

Away from work you will find him enjoying his family, being outdoors, at the beach, or traveling.  You will also find him involved with various ministries and charities with a building ministry.
